Getting updates

Cards get better over time. When a new version comes out you import it the same way you imported the first one, and everything you have already learned stays where it is.

How updating works

Every card carries a hidden identity number. When you import a newer file, Anki matches the cards by that number and refreshes what is on them. It does not create a second copy, and it does not touch your review history. Your due dates, your intervals and the cards you find hard all stay the same.

1. Download the new fileGet it from Ko-fi. The number at the end of the file name is the version, so you can tell the new file from the one you already have.
2. Open it the same way as beforeDouble click on a computer, or share it into the app on a phone.
3. Import itAnki tells you how many cards it updated. That number will be large and that is normal.

Switching between English and Arabic

This works exactly like an update. Import the file for the other language and the meaning on every card changes over. You keep every review you have done. You do not need to delete anything first, and you should not import both languages of the same level at once.

On a phone

The simplest way is to import on a computer and then press Sync. The phone picks up the change by itself. If you only have a phone, importing the file directly works too.
